The Edison Public Library provides free resources and classes for patrons to expand their literacy skills in many areas- including speaking, reading, writing and digital literacy.
Classes We Offer
“Language Lounge”- English Learning Groups:
You do not need to register. Choose when you want to attend and what you want to learn.
All classes are held at the Edison Library’s Main Branch (340 Plainfield Avenue, Edison)
Newcomer Days
Join our Newcomer Days to start your learning journey and become acclimated to the U.S.
❖ Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00pm-3:00pm
Communication Days
Practice English speaking, listening, and communication skills.
❖ Mondays, 10:00am-12:00pm — Beginner & Intermediate
❖ Tuesdays, 10:00am-12:00pm — Intermediate & Advanced
Grammar Days
Practice English reading, writing, and grammar skills.

ESL Fun Fridays
Learn English through games, short movies, art and more!

Technology Support Appointments
Get one-on-one help with computer/device questions, learning new tech skills, using our digital library resources, online applications, and more!
You must register for one of our 30 minute appointments. Appointments are available during these time frames:
❖ Mondays from 11am-2pm
❖ Wednesdays from 4pm-7pm
❖ Fridays from 12pm-3pm
Call or visit the library if you would like help making an appointment. You can also walk in at any time during the above hours and receive assistance if there is availability.

Digital Literacy Learning – Northstar
Northstar Digital Literacy allows you to learn the basic skills needed to use a computer and the internet in daily life, employment, and higher education. Learn and practice skills in areas such as basic computer/internet skills, Microsoft, Windows, Excel, Google Docs and more!
Complete lessons on your own or schedule a 30 minute technology support appointment for assistance.
