On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the Board of Trustees of the Edison Public Library voted to officially recognize a brand-new Friends of the Edison Public Library organization under the auspices of the Edison Public Library Foundation.

Friends’ Mission

The mission of the Friends of the Edison Public Library is to increase public awareness of services, programs, and mission of the Library and raise additional funds to support the Edison Public Library.

Ways that the Friends can fulfill this mission include:

• Providing outreach and community engagement to promote and support the library’s programs and services
• Engaging in advocacy efforts on behalf of the Library under the guidance of the Library and the Library Board of Trustees
• Organize fundraisers to provide capital for Library programs, services, and resources
• Publicly supporting the Library and its policies
